Just For You

I love this card! It's a card that I CASE'd from my manager, Angie Leach. You can find the original idea for this card, here. One of the differences between Angie's card and mine is that for her card she used the 31/2" scallop circle and 3" circle Big Shot dies. I don't own either of those dies yet so I improvised and used my Cricut. You can definitely tell that the scalloped circles are very different. I prefer the tighter scallops using the Big Shot die on Angie's cards.

I love the original colors that Angie used but the friend I made this card for loves the color blue and I wanted to make it for her with colors that she loves. She's been in the hospital so when I visited her yesterday I wanted to cheer her up and give her a reminder of how much I care about her.

I originally wanted to put purple with the "Night of Navy" blue but I couldn't find a shade of purple that we carry that I liked with it so I happily went with this very sunny "Daffodil Delight". The stamp set that I used is called "Flower Fest" from our Summer Mini and is available only through the end of August. Get yours while you still can!

Happy Father's Day

I love my dad! He has been there for me every minute of my 46 1/2 years. He turned 70 this year and he and my mom just celebrated their golden anniversary. A very godly man. God has blessed him and his family tremendously throughout the years and I am very grateful for him! I love you, Dad!

At my last demonstrator meeting this is the card that we made. It is very masculine and I love how it turned out. A special card for my special dad! The original card can be found here, on my manager Angie Leach's blog.

Paper: Not So Navy, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Nautical Expedition DSP

Happy Anniversary

This man and I have been married for 26 years. June 8th was our anniversary. Who knew, on that special day in 1985, how much fun, laughter, heartache and closeness that we would share in all of those years. I can't imagine going through my life without this man, my husband, by my side. We continue to become closer every day, tightening and strengthening the bond that God has given us. Until death do us part.

Here is the card that I made for him. It is a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from another Stampin' Up consultant, Teneale Williams. I really love how she creates such a beautiful front but then carries it to the inside as well.

Stamps: Fabulous Florets & Happy Greetings -both from the summer mini

Ink: Black StazOn, Crumb Cake, Elegant Eggplant

Paper: Very Vanilla, Regals DS paper pack

Accessories: Crumb Cake Bias Tape Ribbon, Pearls, Shimmer Mist, Dazzling Diamonds

Tools: Scallop Edge Border, Blending pen

So Simple

I made this card for my niece who was married Friday night. This card was very simple but very elegant. You may have to click on the image so you can see the Shimmer mist that I sprayed over the entire card to give it amazing sparkle.
Supplies used-

Stamps: You’re a Gem (discontinued/Occasions Mini Catalog)

Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White

Ink: Night of Navy

Accessories: Basic Rhinestones, Shimmer Mist (made from our Champagne Shimmer Paint)

Tools: Snail Adhesive, Big Shot, #114520 Flower Daisies #2 die

The card is fairly easy to see how it's made but just to highlight a few of the things that I did to make this card...
* I used an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut in half widthwise, and then ran it through my Big Shot so that I would get two cuts of each flower from the die
* I used our Champagne Shimmer Paint, mixed with rubbing alcohol and water to make the Shimmer Mist that I sprayed over the entire surface of the card

(I will try to make sure that the cards I post on my blog, from now on, use only current and available stamps and products from our Stampin' Up catalogs.)

SWEET!

Such a SWEET and simple little card. I like to add lots of fun things to my cards but once in awhile it's nice to just keep it simple.

I started with an A2 card (5 1/2"x4 1/4") in Old Olive that I ran through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I stamped the Solid Stripes background stamp in Old Olive onto a 2" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and added a narrow border of scalloped Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I used a piece of Rich Razzleberry 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon across the striped paper and popped up the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals. The stamp I used is from the Summer Mini. It's a set called Pretty Postage. I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then punched it out with our new Postage Stamp Punch available in the Summer Mini as well. I then mounted it to Old Olive cardstock and cut it evenly on all sides with my paper cutter.

You can view all of the Stampin' Up catalogs through my webpage at http://www.polkadotstamper.stampinup.net/.

Have a great day and remember to keep it simple!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers! I have the privilege of spending this Mother's Day with my mom. Because of distance we don't always get this special treat. We have done lots of fun things already this weekend and have a few more things we want to do today. I'm going to show her some of my new Stampin' Up goodies and maybe we'll even get to make a few cards together this afternoon.

This is the special card I made for my special mom. I love this card and she loved it when she opened it. She also loves the shimmery effect that I gave it using our Champagne Shimmer paint.

Supplies:

Tangerine Tango cardstock cut to 9 1/4 x 8 and folded to 9 1/4 x 4 for the card base.
Very Vanilla is cardstock cut to 9 x 3 3/4 and layered onto the card base.

Before attaching the Very Vanilla cardstock use the new Fabulous Florets stamp set from our new Summer Mini and stamp the leafy branch in Old Olive several times, some with full ink and some that have been stamped off first to make them lighter. I then stamped the open floral images onto Whisper White with Black Staz-On ink and sponged them with Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango. Cut out the images and curl up the flower petals with your bone folder. You can add Dazzling Diamonds glitter to all of them or just some of them. You can touch a Basic Rhinestone to the petals if you want to make it look like there is dew on one of the petals. Make the flowers your own. I popped up two of the flowers with Dimensionals and used our glue dots to adhere the others to the card. Using Old Olive ink, stamp the small leaf several times onto Old Olive cardstock and cut out. Use as many or as few as you like. I used odd numbers of flowers and leaves to give my card balance and to be eye catching. Instead of using black ink for my sentiment on the front and the inside I went with Night of Navy for a less intense look. I think it looks softer and isn't so harsh.

Now for the shimmery look I gave this card. This technique is so easy and gives your cards or individual stamped images just the right amount of soft sparkle that is less intense than using glitter. Get a small spray bottle, like those used for traveling, or you can find them at your local craft stores. Fill the bottle a quarter of the way up with water and the other 3/4's fill with rubbing alcohol leaving a small space at the top to shake it together. Shake up a bottle of our Champagne Shimmer paint and then add a few drops to your spray bottle. Shake it up and you now have instant shimmer spray for all of your paper craft ideas. You may have to experiment with how many drops to add. Just don't use too many. You should be able to make a lot of shimmer spray with your small bottle of Shimmer Paint. Leave me a comment if you love my card too!

Brand New Blogger

Welcome to my new stamping and scrapbooking blog. I am a new Stampin' Up Demonstrator and I have lots of ideas to share with you. My goal is to post 1-2 times a week to start out but eventually I'd like to post new ideas, cards or scrapbook pages  everyday. If you like my blog, please share it on your FB page or your own blog. I have no idea, at this point, what I'm doing so I'm hoping you will give me a few breaks every once in awhile. I'm hoping to post a really cute card on Wednesday. I am waiting for an order from Stampin' Up to come tomorrow so I can finish it, photograph it and post it. Wish me luck!
